Viasat has been honored for its record of performance by national magazines such as INC, Forbes, and Fortune Small Business. In this role, you will propose concepts to solve customer problems. You will architect the system along with our customers by bringing to bear technology assets across Viasat and our partners. The products and systems you will be defining are in optical communications, Radar and SIGINT applications. Additionally, you will develop the algorithms necessary to solve a wide range communication and radar problems. You will build system solutions from your algorithms by transitioning them from simulations to instantiations on DSP/FPGA/GPU platforms. The day-to-day You will work with interdisciplinary teams including Business Development, Systems, Software, RF circuits, hardware engineers, and others to develop digital signal processing algorithms and be integral to supporting new and existing space programs. What you'll need 7+ years' experience in applied signal processing experience Demonstrated experience with the architectural definition, design, and integration Proven track record developing, defining, and implementing signal processing solutions in communication and/or radar systems Background in random processes, communication theory, and spectral analysis Validated experience in collaborating with customers Ability to perform systems level analysis Proven experience in proposal or applications engineering Able to derive module/box requirements from system level requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or related field US government position. US citizenship required. Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret with SSBI/SCI when administratively feasible Ability to travel up to 10% What will help you on the job M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline Active Top Secret clearance with SSBI/SCI highly preferred Experience writing discrete-time simulations in Matlab, C/C++, or Python Knowledge of RF or networking fundamentals Experience with Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) AESA/phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or EW experience Strong communication skills - both verbal and written. Must be comfortable developing and presenting briefings. Some detail design or hands on hardware test experience is beneficial
#LI-GS1 Salary range $153,000.00 - $219,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $190,500.00- $257,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
