Position Summary: This individual will analyze and test various products and assemblies, including AC and DC drives and encoders. Test and troubleshoot equipment and products, both production and RMO as necessary. Receives objectives and technical advice from Engineers or Managers. Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and test procedures. Records and analyzes data and prepares test reports. Support operations in day-to-day activities to produce high quality products, solve problems to root cause and provide general technical support. Essential Job Functions Conduct various electrical, electronic, and computer, tests to support production process Collect and record test data Perform typical duties such as: constructing test fixtures, repairing customer products/drives and encoders, connecting and wiring drives and motors Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions of assemblies and PCB's as required from manufacturing Test and troubleshoot DC and AC drives and drive systems as required from manufacturing and RMO processes Determine and identify necessary equipment and/or testing fixtures to effectively test products Elevate opportunities where process improvements can/have been noted Support engineering in hardware and software design of motor drives, controls systems and encoders Support operations and quality department to improve products and processes Other duties as assigned Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Travel Requirements Not required under normal circumstances May be necessary for off-site training or special site visit circumstances Preferred Traits: Action oriented - biased towards small immediate steps (Kaizen) Quality by example - demonstrates quality leadership through personal attitude & actions Communicator - consistent, effective, clear, timely, and polite (internal & external communication) Autonomous - Ability to set priorities without input or supervision in fast moving/fluid situations Strong sense of urgency Tech Savvy Additional Job Details Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec No Soliciting Nidec will not accept unsolicited resumes from individual recruiters or third party recruiting agencies in response to Nidec job postings.
