POSITION: LAK RN Manager – Medicine Unit and Intensive Care Unit (Unclassified)
LOCATION: Lallie Kemp Medical Center, Independence, Louisiana
DEPARTMENT: Medicine/ICU
Description: Under broad review from the Director of Nursing, the incumbent of this position serves as Nurse Manager to provide supervision of nursing care skills and clinical services to patients of all ages on a 20 bed Medical/Surgical Unit in an acute care general hospital as well as nursing activities of a 4 bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit that provides care to patients 18 years of age and older. Additionally, the incumbent will provide supervision of nursing services requiring skilled monitoring of patients, interpretation of complex data and implementation of nursing intervention based on those interpretations on a twenty-four-hour basis; serve as an intradepartmental liaison in patient care related situations; and coordinate Unit Quality Improvement Program. This Nursing Manager is directly accountable to the Director of Nurses for the professional performance of the staff he/she directs and management of these Nursing Service areas.
Minimum Qualifications Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required. The incumbent must possess a current Louisiana State Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing plus BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Additionally, the incumbent must possess three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
