PART-TIME ACCREDITATION MANAGER AND EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN\ The Police Department is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Part-Time Accreditation Manager and Evidence Technician. This dual-role position ensures the department meets and maintains accreditation requirements under the Kansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (KLEAP) while also overseeing the proper\ intake, storage, and handling of evidence in compliance with legal and departmental standards.

\ Accreditation Manager Duties:\ Ensure departmental policies and procedures align with KLEAP accreditation standards.\ Maintain accreditation files, including proofs of compliance and assessment records.\ Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to prepare for assessments.\ Coordinate with KLEAP representatives and department leadership on accreditation matters.\ Train personnel on accreditation policies and updates.\ Track and implement changes required to maintain compliance.

\ Evidence Technician Details:\ Receive, document, and securely store all evidence and property.\ Maintain accurate chain-of-custody records in accordance with legal standards.\ Ensure proper packaging, handling, and preservation of evidence.\ Facilitate transfers for laboratory testing and court proceedings.\ Conduct regular audits and inventory inspections for accountability.\ Coordinate the release, disposal, or return of property per department policies.

\ Qualifications\ Law enforcement experience or familiarity with criminal justice procedures (preferred).\ Understanding of KLEAP accreditation or other law enforcement accreditation programs (preferred). Training\ will be provided.\ Knowledge of evidence handling procedures and chain of custody documentation.\ Strong organizational, record-keeping, and documentation skills.\ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and law enforcement record management systems.\ Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.\ Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with officers, command staff, and external agencies.

\ Education and Experience\ Completion of high school or GED required\ A current Kansas drivers license

\ Physical Requirements\ Little to moderate physical effort is required. Individual must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, grasp, speak and\ listen for extended periods of time.

\ Working Conditions\ Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any\ hazardous or unpleasant elements.NOTE: Final applicants will submit to a drug and background screenings.

\ PAY RATE: The pay rate for this position is \$19.16 per hour. This is a part-time position with a regular schedule of at least\ 20 hours and less than 40 hours per week.\ APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until filled.
