Aerotek Welder in Independence, Iowa

1st Shift Welding Opportunities in Independence

Monday - Friday, 6A - 3P

You Will Be

  • MIG welding on steel of a variety of thicknesses

  • Properly setting up and adjusting welding equipment

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols

  • Cutting metal to size using precise measurements

  • Operating machinery such as plasma cutters, lasers, mills, lathes,

  • Using basic shop math, factions, decimals

  • Perform quality checks and inspections on welds

  • Operate overhead cranes or forklifts to lift and transport materials and products

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of MIG welding experience

  • Ability to pass a basic weld test

  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and weld symbols

  • Valid driver's license/reliable transportation

  • Familiarity with micrometers and calipers

  • Working knowledge of shop math, fractions, decimals

  • Provide your own weld hood
