Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Social Work Associate to join the team at the Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI). This is a full-time HHS position with a Tuesday-Saturday, 2ndshift schedule and strong opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.
The successful candidate for this position will primarily perform the following job duties as a Social Work Associate:
Conduct patient/family interviews to obtain information for social histories.
Obtain case records and prior hospital stays and releases.
Make patient referrals.
Participate in discharge planning.
Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited area college with an Associate's of Arts or Science Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Case Management, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or Nursing;
OR
an equivalent combination of experience and education substituting one year of the required full-time experience in social work, human services, case management, public administration, sociology, psychology, or nursing for each year (30 semester hours or one year) of the required education.
