Job Description

The Overnight General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing a broad range of maintenance duties throughout the night. This includes general repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front of house areas. The role also involves performing entry-level preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas, as well as addressing repair needs involving mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.

This position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus, with $500 paid on the first paycheck and an additional $500 after six months of service.

This role will also qualify for an additional $1.00 per hour during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting facilities, and public areas to ensure a high level of property upkeep and guest satisfaction.

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to prolong the lifespan and efficiency of hotel facilities and equipment.

• Address and resolve repair needs involving mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.

• Maintain effective communication with hotel staff and guests to ensure all maintenance issues are addressed promptly and thoroughly.

• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to manage and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring smooth operation during overnight hours.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of building maintenance experience, preferably within a hotel setting.

• Demonstrated skills in mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry repairs.

• Excellent customer service skills, capable of clear and effective communication with guests and staff.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight shifts.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
