Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
The Michigan State University and Hurley Children's Hospital Pediatric Public Health Initiative (https://msuhurleypphi.org/), under the direction of Dr. Mona Hanna and Dr. Nicole Jones, seeks a Professional Aide for the Flint Registry (https://www.flintregistry.org/) project. The Flint Registry's goal is to connect people who were impacted by the Flint Water Crisis to resources and programs that serve to minimize the effects of lead on their health while promoting wellness and recovery.
• Administer follow-up survey on the phone or in person to Flint Registry participants. • Assist with correcting data and assisting with outreach participation and formatting data entry into our data systems. • Create referrals to community partners via online referral system.
Desired Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED • Experience in making phone calls to individuals without prior introduction (cold calls) • Experience collecting information through scripted interviews and surveys, entering data into a database, and working with people of all ages. • Knowledge of the Flint community and/or Flint water crisis • Able to work independently, as well as part of a team • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
