JBT Corporation Category Manager - Electronics in Illinois, United States

Overview ... This is a corporate category leadership role for JBT and an exciting career opportunity to shape sourcing strategies in Electrical category grouping which includes electronics category to help us grow through organic positioning and strategic acquisitions and mergers. This sourcing leadership role has North America scope in products, manufacturing, and supply chain with category and procurement teams located globally. Our supply chain strategy is inspired at the center as one JBT where the understanding and execution is at your team level to support flexibility. This strategic role is responsible for $75M+ of Electrical direct materials spend that are either outsourced or produced internally. You will lead supply chain operational programs and strategies for Electrical spend categories improving over thirty (30) manufacturing facilities. This spend continues to grow in scope through multiple efforts in make/buy, acquisitions, organic global/regional expansion. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful and experienced category leader in a visible leadership position with a career path of continued strategic contributions and advancement. You will have an office at JBT Chicago headquarters or at business location or a remote office. You have relevant supply chain leadership experience managing/influencing multiple P&L's for different manufacturing businesses and managing global spend more than $150 Million. You will report to the VP, Global Sourcing The Opportunity ... Specific Responsibilities Develop category strategies and total cost improvement programs for the major 80/20 Electrical category grouping spend aligned with JBT business, divisions, and corporate priorities to increase QDCR – Quality Delivery Cost Relationship. Leading JBT wide Make Buy sourcing initiative for electrical control panels including core competence assessments, productivity plans at JBT manufacturing sites, and right sizing the supply base. Deploy best practice to organize components and products into families and kits based on type, process, materials promoting procurement, and operational efficiency. Support part normalization and VA/VE efforts by category and products to use product supply and specifications to reduce total costs. Implement Supplier Quality, Assessment and Performance programs across JBT Electrical category grouping to evaluate and qualify suppliers for businesses, technical categories, and products to develop capable suppliers, strengthen supplier selection, performance, and reduce risk in the supply chain. Develop alternative suppliers for sole or single source relationships and ensure new technology conversion minimizing end of life (EOL) product supply challenges. Bring a supplier concentration strategy to right size the supply base, reduce distributors and develop more direct manufacturing relationships in important subcategories promoting supply continuity and tension. Support an independent aftermarket part supply program with divisional supply chain and commercial leaders ensuring dedicated supplier capacity, inventory programs and quick turn lead times. Build/nurturing internal business and external strategic supplier relationships on a local, regional, and global level. Incorporate/refine multiple supply chain and sourcing tool sets including structured sourcing processes, category management, supplier management, material optimization, risk management, and supply base development. Support deployment and training on continuous improvement (RCI) toolset to lead total cost savings including working capital programs and supplier performance improvement for Electrical category grouping and higher level BOM products. You will lead/develop high impact supplier relationships according to leadership across multiple industries and businesses inclusive collaboration of and establishing strategic supplier agreements. Foster team communication and facilitate rigorous project management within all levels of our supply chain teams Requirements for this position include: 5+ years of proven leadership experience and a global supply chain background in direct materials sourcing and operations, with electronics Demonstrated leadership experience driving total cost improvements year over year in the supply chain through sourcing, supplier management and value (VA/VE) creation efforts Supplier development and sourcing experience along with a global mindset for engineered and electrical-based products Experience negotiating and establishing all types of supplier agreements from transactional to full strategic alliances Lean /six sigma manufacturing and continuous improvement experience with kaizens and toolsets Why work at JBT ...
