Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Thermal Mechanical Analysis Department Manager. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:

• Approval authority for engineering calculation analysis reports (ECARs) performed to support irradiation experiments.
• Implement approved department/program level plans and budgets.
• Hire, mentor, promote department staff.
• Approve self-assessment plans and other standard approval authorities (such as time charges, travel, expenses).
• Develop and maintain guides, standards and procedures for assigned management systems.
• Develop work procedures to achieve mission objectives in a manner that assures safe, secure, environmentally compliant and efficient operations.
• Apply department resources to support division, directorate, programmatic and Laboratory missions.
• Hold staff accountable for performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Implement decisions and policies for the department according to INL policy (e.g., staffing, organization, merit allocations, promotions, discipline, awards and recognition, professional development, indirect budgets, business development, customer relations and projects, and internal and external interfaces.

*Minimum Requirements: * * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline with commensurate experience in the nuclear enterprise: BS and 12 years of experience, MS and 8 years of experience, or PhD and 6 years of experience. * 5 years of experience with nuclear experiment R&D. * Evidence of increasing leadership experience demonstrating effective skills in recruiting, developing and managing engineers. * Experience performing or managing analysis work on nuclear reactors/nuclear systems. * Knowledge of finite element, computational fluid dynamics, multi-physics and nuclear systems software (e.g., ABAQUS, Star-CCM , COMSOL, RELAP5). * Experience using nuclear safety basis/design safety analysis (DSA) documentation. * Clearly describe complex experiment designs and analyses and develop arguments to defend analysis. * Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment * This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

*Job Information: *

• The target pay range for this position is $123,735.00- $185,631.00 annually. The full pay range is $ 103,032.00- $262,740.00. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

• TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
