What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be primarily responsible for the overall delivery of safe, reliable and employee focused facilities and site management services to our office in Hyderabad.

  • Develop and implement the overall facility management strategy for AIN : Working closely with AIN site leadership and key functional groups such as HR, Safety (EHSS) and Security, develop and implement the facility management and site services strategy.

  • Delivery of facilities management and workplace services: Ensure the reliable, safe delivery of fit for purpose facilities management, workplace services and maintenance services at our Hyderabad location.

  • Integrated Service Provider (ISP) performance management: At this site, facility management and workplace services may be primarily driven by third party providers. A key responsibility of the role will be to select the best providers and ensure that their performance is aligned with the workplace strategy and stays in sync with Amgen processes and procedures. Another aspect of the role will be to ensure providers meet agreed results via SLAs and KPI performance metrics.

  • Management oversight of site amenities, cafeteria, and catering services: Keeping our offices comfortable and attractive for staff and offering them a productive environment is a key pillar of Amgen’s workplace strategy. This role will play a key role in ensuring an effective environment by providing and maintaining the right amenities and workplace services.

  • Building landlord engagement: As required this position and its team will need to engage with building landlords on the Company's behalf in defining maintenance roles and responsibilities, asset ownership and clarifying lease terms to ensure proper upkeep of building common areas.

  • Lead a team: Customer experience is paramount, and the ideal facilities/safety team will be focused on the occupants, their safety and comfort. This role may include the guidance and mentoring of both direct/indirect facilities staff and supporting their career growth while ensuring a strong succession model for the business.

  • Budget and financial management: A key aspect of the role will be to ensure sound financial management of the facilities and workplace services budget. Responsibilities include budgeting, purchase order management, sourcing and contract management.

  • Emergency management and business continuity : Working closely with Safety (EHSS) and Security, providing emergency management leadership services including building evacuations and ensure business continuity through crisis situations at the regional offices.

  • Support Amgen’s environmental sustainability plan in the region : Working closely with site leadership this role will play a key role in advancing the company’s environmental sustainability plan in key areas such as utilities optimization, consumables, and waste management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 to 14+ years of experience in facilities management or related areas such as Security, Environmental Health & Safety, capital construction projects or other similar operational roles

Or

  • Master's degree or Post Graduate Diploma with 8+ years of experience in facilities management or related areas such as Security, Environmental Health & Safety, capital construction projects or other similar operational roles

Or

  • Doctorate degree and 6+ years of experience in facilities management or related areas such as Security, Environmental Health & Safety, capital construction projects or other similar highly operational roles.

  • Experience partnering with and handling the performance results of third-party integrated service providers.

  • Critical Budget Management, Forecasting, Purchase Order, and Invoice approval. Contract negotiation, vendor oversight and/or supply chain experience.

  • Demonstrated staff leadership, development, mentoring, and supervision skills.

  • Experience working with multiple key customers and business partners including HR, Finance, Global Security, Corporate Real Estate and Construction Project Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity within the life sciences industry, utilities systems, laboratories, manufacturing and common regulatory standards around the discovery, development, and production of human therapeutics.

  • History with major India country labor laws and regulations and any applicable regional employment requirements.

  • Experience driving productivity through operational excellence and use of continuous improvement techniques such as lean, six-sigma.

  • Ability to interpret the impact of industry trends and new technologies. Networking, benchmarking and implementing operational excellence principles.

  • Understanding of EHS requirements within a large office facility including country, state and local applicable regulations.

  • 5+ years of experience in a lead role delivering facilities management and site services in India within a large multi-national organization.

  • Ability to share the best industry practices and lessons learned across the Company regional locations.

Soft Skills:

  • Experience in customer service delivery with demonstrated accountability and ownership. Understands the criticality of change management and its positive impact on the customer/occupant experience when performed correctly.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, independent, and adaptable. Flexible to adjust workload based on changing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Public speaking skills.
