Oracle Senior Cloud Engineer in HYDERABAD, India

Job Description

As a Senior Cloud DevOps engineer, Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

• Work with the cloud infrastructure team to perform detailed design based on provided high-level design specifications, assist in system planning, scheduling, implementation, and support.

• Develop production class cloud orchestration pipelines to streamline continuous delivery of services to our customers running in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).

• Interact with development and cloud operations to resolve complex production issues escalated to the Cloud Engineering team.

• Assist with debugging and troubleshooting applications and programs.

• Assist in production issues as needed and be available for weekend on-calls on a rotational basis.

• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the quality of the codebase.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud computing and DevOps practices.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Expertise in container-based development using Docker and Kubernetes is mandatory, with at least 5 years of experience in Infrastructure programming/development using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages, typically used for infrastructure automation, such as Shell scripting, Python, or Ruby is required.

• Knowledge of version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket is essential.

• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments and a strong understanding of Unix commands are required.

• DevOps exposure and experience with CICD tools like Jenkins or GitlabCI is preferred.

• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud (OCI), Azure, AWS, or Openstack is required (OCI preferred).

• Experience in troubleshooting production issues for J2EE applications, including those running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or other public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.), along with containerization technologies like Kubernetes, is highly desirable.

• Experience with Oracle Weblogic, Jetty and OBIEE is a plus.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools like Kibana/Grafana and infrastructure monitoring services from cloud vendors is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently on projects and collaborate with the team when needed.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.

• Experience understanding regulatory and enterprise security considerations and designing solutions that factor in such considerations.

• BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area, with a minimum of 5 years of software engineering or related experience.
