Oracle Principal Database Engineer - Performance Tunning in HYDERABAD, India

Job Description

1. Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting:

  • Must have expertise in Database performance tuning, SQL query tuning and performance optimization using AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports .

  • Troubleshoot GoldenGate replication lag, database connectivity, and execution plan issues .

  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and OCI Monitoring tools for proactive monitoring.

2. Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) Implementation & Management:

  • Design and implement real-time data replication using Oracle GoldenGate for heterogeneous environments .

  • Configure Extract, Pump, and Replicate processes for both unidirectional and bidirectional replication .

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize GoldenGate replication performance .

  • Implement conflict detection and resolution in multi-master replication environments.

3. Oracle 23ai ATP & ADW Expertise:

  • Deploy, configure, and optimize Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) and Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) on OCI .

  • Implement automated performance tuning, auto-scaling, and security policies for ATP & ADW.

  • Utilize Oracle Machine Learning (OML) features in 23ai ADW for data analytics and AI-driven insights.

  • Ensure seamless data integration, migration, and replication between ATP, ADW, and on-prem databases .

4. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Management:

  • Deploy and manage OCI-based database services , including DBaaS, Exadata, and Oracle Autonomous Database .

  • Configure OCI networking, IAM roles, security groups, and database encryption .

  • Automate database provisioning and management using Terraform, Ansible, or OCI CLI .

  • Implement database migration strategies using OCI Data Transfer, Data Pump, or GoldenGate Cloud Service .

5. Oracle Database Engineering & Administration:

  • Install, configure, and manage Oracle databases (19c, 21c, and 23ai ATP/ADW) in OCI environments .

  • Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and optimization for high efficiency.

  • Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and OCI Backup Service.

  • Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) with Data Guard, Flashback, and OCI-based solutions .

6. Security & Compliance:

  • Implement data encryption, masking, and role-based access control (RBAC) in ATP, ADW, and OCI databases.

  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and CIS benchmarks) .

  • Conduct database patching, security updates, and vulnerability assessments .

Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration and Engineering .

✔ Expertise in Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) for real-time data replication .

✔ Hands-on experience with Oracle 23ai ATP (Autonomous Transaction Processing) and ADW (Autonomous Data Warehouse) .

✔ Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, query optimization, and database tuning .

✔ Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) .

✔ Hands-on experience with OCI-based database solutions and Terraform/Ansible for automation .

✔ Familiarity with cloud networking, security policies, and IAM roles in OCI .

Preferred Qualifications:

➤ Experience with Kafka, Oracle Stream Analytics, or other real-time data streaming technologies .

➤ Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra .

➤ Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) for database automation .

Oracle Certifications (OCP, OCI Architect, or OGG Specialist) are highly desirable.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field .
