Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. ​​Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture. ​

​​The Fabric CAT team acts as a bridge between the Fabric product group and customers. We provide help and advice to customers so they can be successful in their Fabric implementation, and at the same time we listen to customer feedback and direct it back to our colleagues who build the product so they can address limitations and plan future features more effectively.

Responsibilities

  • ​Manage a geographically distributed team of technical experts

  • Handle interactions with large customers, often in challenging circumstances

  • Co-ordinate with other teams in the Fabric product group and the Microsoft field

  • Provide direction for the team on how to handle difficult technical problems

  • Work with the rest of the Fabric CAT leadership team to define team goals and plan how to achieve them

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing a team

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Data & AI tools, in particular Microsoft Fabric​

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience. 3+ years people management experience.
