Strategic Business Development Manager

Job Description:

The Business Development Manager role is primarily responsible for Taking the Hill and being the Predominant Voice in building relationships, generating opportunity within key verticals, and growing the addressable market. The role will be focused on building Sage’s presence specifically around Cloud products to generate strategic partnerships and relationships which build engagement and interest. This will be achieved by identifying key influencers, bodies, and groups then utilising their skillset and the power of the brand to build the right partnerships which build interest and opportunity for Sage.

Our Objective

The goals for the role are to build knowledge and relationships in specific market verticals, such as manufacturing, to grow Sage Intacct's market presence. This includes understanding market drivers, key influencers, and forming commercial agreements to maximize relationships. The role will focus on generating Mountain Qualified Opportunities (MQOs) and Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs), leading to increased Intacct licenses and annual recurring revenue (ARR).

Day-to-day activities

will involve meeting external bodies, understanding key stakeholders, building relationships, identifying and attending network events and operationalizing these relationships to generate revenue. The primary goals for the new role include driving partnerships, generating opportunities, and achieving ARR targets. Additionally, the role will involve maximizing influence relationships with professional bodies like ACCA and CIMA to grow Sage's mid-market presence.

As a Business Development Manager, you will ….

• Build relationships with trusted bodies within specific markets, in order to promote Sage Intacct messaging

• Identify and engage influencers who have a strong presence in our target business verticals.

• Collaborate with colleagues across Sage including Marketing, Sales, Product and Customer Success.

• Become a subject matter expert on the buying criteria and processes within our chosen verticals to ensure engagement and influence

• Share Content & evangelising the position of Sage Intacct in the market, focusing on API integration

• Develop relationships with industry leading partners, including business groups, industry groups, public/private partnerships, and key industry influencers.

• Shape and deliver an industry aligned go-to market plans to build mind share and broad use of Sage Intacct within your nominated Industry.
