Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the non-profit sector based in Hyannis, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to our team in managing our accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Handle cash receipts and ensure they are recorded accurately and timely.

• Prepare and post journal entries to provide updated transactional information.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in our financial records.

• Utilize QuickBooks for financial management and reporting.

• Perform month-end close procedures to finalize financial records for the period.

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to control cash flow.

• Maintain the General Ledger to reflect accurate financial status.

• Respond to internal and external inquiries concerning account status and transactions.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.

• Comply with all financial regulations and standards. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks software

• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficient in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures

• Prior experience in a Non-Profit organization will be a plus

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Proactive in identifying and resolving issues

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
