We are seeking a skilled back-end developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM MQ is the market-leading, message-oriented middleware product that delivers a reliable, secure, proven universal messaging backbone across diverse computing environments for 10,000+ organisations, spanning many industries around the world.

The MQ team employs agile development practices with all team members actively engaged in the planning, development, testing and usability related tasks owned and delivered by their 'Delivery Team'. Preferred candidates will be enthusiastic, highly motivated team players who have software skills/experience and demonstrate a genuine desire and aptitude to perform the multi-disciplinary activities inherent in a Software Engineering role. The work performed will have a high degree of technical content, is diverse and challenging yet always rewarding.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working as part of a global team and have good communication (verbal & written) skills.

PLEASE NOTE - This position requires working onsite at our Hursley location a minimum of 3 days per week.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Demonstrated Professional Experience with Automated Testing and Building Test Suites

• Demonstrated Professional experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, Python and BASH is required

• Experience with Linux / UNIX CLI

• Experience in developing and implementing automated testing solutions

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with Container technologies, such as Kubernetes and OpenShift

• Programming experience with C, C++, or Java preferred
