Weatherford PRODUCTION PLANNER in Huntsville, Texas

Weatherford is hiring a Production Planner for our Huntsville facility. The Production Planner will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment. Weatherford provides training, excellent benefits and fantastic career progression.

Review sales orders and forecast data based on capacity availability and plan production / assembly work orders to meet customer due dates.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

  • Review customer required dates with Customer Service and set promise dates.

  • Review open sales orders, verifying for released component product structures/routings and prints

  • Plan all production activities according to product assignment and available capacity

  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

  • Utilize the Shortage report and the manufacturing system to review all work orders for material availability and printing / releasing.

  • Authorize production and purchase of raw material, components and finished goods based on review of MRP.

  • Perform capacity planning, shop order release and out-processing. Set priorities.

  • Manage load vs. capacity so as to minimize overtime and maximize work center efficiency.

  • Follow-up and track product through supply chain to ensure needs are met and on time delivery is not affected.

  • Prepare detail updates and manage promise dates for Production meetings.

  • Coordinate scrap remakes with Manufacturing / Purchasing. Coordinate NCR’s with Engineering.

  • Communicate all reschedules to Customer Service.

  • Communicate trends in resource demands, performance to schedule and special needs to the Materials Manager in a timely fashion.

  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Experience & Education

REQUIRED

  • 1-3 years planning/scheduling experience in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.

  • College degree in business or technical discipline

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

REQUIRED

  • Strong organization and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work as part of cross-functional teams.

  • Good understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Good communication skills (oral and written). Ability to effectively interface and collaborate with all departments to ensure positive results.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: <10%
