**[Usual duties:[ The Department of Art at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Art to teach Graphic Design starting Fall 2025.
[Ideal candidates must have the ability to teach UI/UX and motion design, supported by a portfolio that demonstrates professional achievement in these areas.HTMLandCSSskills are required, and proficiency with the Adobe Suite is expected. The desired candidate will possess strong fundamental design, communication, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the enthusiasm necessary to contribute to a regionally competitive design program atSHSU.
Duties include teaching 5 courses year (3/2 course load), service on departmental, college, and university committees, and include an expectation of sustained, peer-reviewed creative activity or scholarly research.
**[Degree Requirements: [Candidates must possess anMFAor terminal degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communications and demonstrate outstanding potential in research and/or creative activity.
**[Experience Requirements:[ Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred. Professional Design experience is also an asset.
