Senior Linux Admin

KBR is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to manage Linux systems in a lab supporting System Engineering Analysis for PEO Missiles and Space. The candidate should be capable of performing Tier III level support and have 10+ years of documented experience. The role will require performing technical support and oversight for Linux systems to include, but not limited to planning, designing, evaluating, and maintaining CentOS 7, RHEL8, RHEL9, and Rocky Linux 9 deployment and support. A good understanding of integrating Linux with Active Directory is also required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lab users to ensure smooth and reliable operation of all systems to fulfill business objectives.

  • Demonstrated experience with STIGs, vulnerability scanning, and encryption.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks.

  • Ability to work on virtual and physical systems.

  • Assist with server and procedural documentation.

  • Mitigate ACAS findings on systems.

  • Maintain software update repositories and apply update strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and 10 years of related experience.

  • Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification.

  • Linux OS Certification or certificate of course completion.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Meticulous mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to process.

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance, US Citizenship required.

Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
