Job Description

A client in Huntsville, AL is looking for a Safety Engineer to join their team.

Day to Day:

-Takes ownership of the System Safety scope

-Support the tracking of system engineering metrics to measure the development progress of the program

-Lead WG meetings specific to system safety with the Prime and customer stakeholders

-Lead the system and software safety engineering team in the review and development of system and software safety documentation per MIL-STD-882E

-Support the test engineering team in the evaluation of subcontractor test plans and verification matrices as related to system safety

-Identify program risks for risk board review

-Develop and execute mitigation plans for approved risks

-Lead the development of system safety SDRLs to support key program design reviews

-Support the traceability of subsystem hardware, software, and firmware system safety requirements to the system

-Support failure investigation teams and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action development

Skills and Requirements

-Minimum 5 years of related experience

-Experience with Hazard Analysis and Root Cause Analysis
