SAIC Mission Engineering Lead in HUNTSVILLE, Alabama
Description
SAIC is seeking experienced SDA Mission Engineering Lead to support the Space Development Agency (SDA). The Mission Engineering Lead will provide technical leadership and expertise in support of advanced space acquisition programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering, digital engineering, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with significant experience in space systems development, integration, and testing.
Note: This role can be located in Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CA
Responsibilities to include:
Guide the development, integration, and testing of advanced space acquisition systems, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with mission objectives.
Develop and oversee Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and system integration strategies.
Conduct trade studies and provide engineering analysis to support decision-making processes.
Manage systems engineering processes, including requirements analysis, system design, verification, validation, and risk management.
Utilize Digital Engineering and MBSE tools to model and simulate system performance and ensure robust mission capability.
Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of space systems.
Oversee Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities to ensure system readiness and mission success.
Provide technical expertise in space acquisitions, system integration, and systems testing.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, etc.). Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Access
10 years of experience in space acquisitions with a focus on development, integration, and testing.
Proficiency in Digital Engineering, MBSE, and Modeling and Simulation methodologies.
Strong background in systems engineering, integration, systems testing, and development of TEMPs, IV&V processes, trade studies, and ICDs.
Expertise in conducting technical analyses and system evaluations.
