SCOPE

(U) The Field Operations Technician must have the ability to drive a motorized vehicle and tow various types of equipment across a DoD test range, performing maintenance and upkeep on motorized vehicles and other varying mechanical items as needed. Additionally, this individual will be relied upon to setup and teardown threat representative systems and equipment on a DoD test range, as well as troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on various equipment with minimal supervision or direction. The Field Operations Technician will be expected to have a general understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) emissions and collection to assist with RF collection and post-fielding testing activities. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong organizational skills, and has the ability to work / execute multiple tasks simultaneously.

Field Operations Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tow / transport threat systems and various equipment across a test range.
  • Setup and teardown threat systems / test equipment across a test range.
  • Perform threat system troubleshooting and maintenance as required.
  • Become efficient operating threat systems through on-the-job training.
  • Perform general motor vehicle maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Maintain a working facility and adhere to organizational and cleanliness standards.
  • Support test range coordination efforts to include obtaining approvals for operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in field operations and maintenance.
  • Experience setting up and tearing down systems on a DoD test range.
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting utilizing tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter.
  • Basic understanding of RF emissions and collection.
  • Have, or obtain within one year of start date a Part 107 remote pilot certification.
  • Ability to travel with threat representative and test equipment, up to 30% of time.
  • Active DoD SECRET security clearance.
