About our Department:
The City Clerks office is responsible for records maintenance on rules, ordinances, policy resolutions, agendas and minutes for City Council and other meetings. The City Clerks office also maintains the print shop and storeroom of supplies while providing a variety of services for departments and other City agencies.
The department is responsible for delivery and processing of mail to various departments and other City agencies.
Mail, Supply, and Printing Services Assistant Position Overview:
This is routine work involving the printing of work orders and determining daily production schedules supporting all City departments. Work also involves operating a storeroom, requisitioning supplies, and preparing a wide variety of records; and establishing storage methods and procedures. Work is reviewed in progress by inspection ensuring that supplies are available for each day's production, maintaining production and other records, preparing reports, and operating desktop publishing equipment.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency, preferably supplemented by college-level course work or training in print shop equipment operations; considerable experience in the operation of a print shop; experience in storekeeping and mail work; or any combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver's license.
