Integration Innovation, Inc. (i3) Lead Software Architect / Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama
Overview
i3 is seeking a driven Lead Software Architect/Engineer in support of our Software and Digital Engineering Department. This position will provide software development expertise to enhance technical development across the department. Primarily, this position will help spearhead the development of an interoperable medical system using emerging technologies and hybrid cloud solutions. You will work with a highly motivated team of software developers to solve technical challenges and facilitate medical advancements in patient care for the entire U.S. Army Medical community. This position does support a hybrid work schedule and is located in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:Provide guidance on technical decisions, architecture, and best practices. Ensure that the team is aligned on coding standards and design patterns.
Mentorship:Support and mentor team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers. Encourage knowledge sharing within the team.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:Work closely with program managers, product owners, scrum masters, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable tasks. Communicate progress, challenges, and technical risks to stakeholders effectively, keeping everyone aligned and informed.
Architecture and Design:Lead discussions on system architecture and design, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance of the application.
Hands-on Development:Actively participate in coding, particularly on complex features or when the team needs additional support. Collaborate with teams to integrate and enhance Android applications with ATAK components, ensuring seamless functionality. Set up, configure, and manage Azure Cloud pipelines to automate build, deployment, and continuous integration processes.
Sprint Planning:Lead or participate in sprint planning meetings to help estimate tasks and ensure that the team commits to a realistic workload.
Code Reviews:Conduct code reviews to maintain quality and ensure adherence to best practices. Provide constructive feedback to improve team members’ coding skills.
Continuous Improvement:Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, helping the team reflect on processes and suggesting changes based on retrospectives. Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies and share knowledge with the team.
Documentation:Ensure that code and architecture documentation is up-to-date, facilitating knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members.
Quality Assurance:Advocate for automated testing and other quality assurance practices, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality software.
Portfolio support:Monitor ever-changing technological landscape of current customer markets and target customer markets and provide strategic guidance. Represent i3 through industry boards, committees, and professional organizations. Provide technological guidance in the proposal development process by developing technical approaches to complex problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Android/Kotlin development experience required.
Experience using Agile Methodologies required.
Experience developing ATAK applications and plug-ins preferred.
Experience with Azure Cloud preferred.
Experience with providing support to the Department of Defense and supporting proposal efforts preferred
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across audiences at various levels of understanding.
U.S. Citizenship is required.

Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
