Job Title: Algorithm Engineer

Job Description

This position will be a key contributor to the design and development of mathematical algorithms. You will help generate software design artifacts, implement software changes, support design and code reviews, support software testing, and resolve issues arising from software testing. You will also be involved in the presentation of developed designs and actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mathematical algorithms for military applications.

• Generate software design artifacts.

• Implement software changes based on mathematical algorithms.

• Support design and code reviews.

• Conduct software testing and resolve any issues.

• Participate in the presentation of developed designs.

• Engage in agile planning and execution.

• Develop software within an agile development process.

• Develop software within a structured, process-based, integrated team environment.

• Develop software within a DevSecOps framework.

• Develop automated unit tests and verify requirements.

• Prepare software design artifacts for presentations and reviews.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2-14 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0-9 years of experience.

• Active Secret Clearance.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.

• Experience with full life-cycle development.

• Experience with Unix/Linux.

• Experience in software implementation of mathematical algorithms.

• Experience with integrated software development toolsets such as Git/GitLab, Eclipse, Maven, SonarQube, Agile Development, Matlab, DevSecOps.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is highly desirable.

• Experience working in the BMDS domain.

• Experience with Command and Control system application development and software integration testing.

• Problem-solving skills with reviewing system behavior issues, identifying root causes, and recommending solutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $80.00/hr.
