Who is ONE Media Technologies?
We are at the forefront of creating and deploying a remarkable new “Next Generation” platform for the broadcast television ecosystem.
This wireless, “All-IP” (Internet Protocol)-based platform is designed to enhance over-the-air broadcasting dramatically, with a vast new set of ‘tools’ to provide multiple data services. The “NextGen” standard starts by delivering traditional, linear television programming with exceptional robustness. With SFNs (Single Frequency Networks), ‘gap fillers’ and related technologies, “NextGen” broadcast signals will provide better indoor reception. And for the first time, broadcast TV will be receivable by portable and mobile devices.
Simultaneously, the “NextGen” platform opens vast new opportunities to broadcasters by enabling non-television data distribution that leverages broadcasting’s enormously efficient one-to-many architecture, an architecture designed to be compatible and aligned with 5G technologies of the future.
Addressable features of the platform permit unique geographical “zoning” of programming, targeted advertising, and data services, supporting expansion of entirely new services that broadcasters can offer including automotive services, Internet of Things (IoT) and vastly enhanced emergency information notifications.
ONE Media is working with international partners to create the first truly ‘global market’ for broadcasting. This is broadcasting as never before imagined.
To support our growing team, we are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the ONE Media Lab team. As a Systems Engineer, you will help innovate, build, and support our rapidly expanding next generation IP broadcast platform.
Responsibilities:
Support Sinclair’s ATSC 3 and mobile initiatives in the US and abroad.
Support verification, validation and conformance testing for ATSC 3 specifications and receivers.
Participate and contribute to the ONE Media Lab innovation and ideation process.
Develop requirements and acceptance plans for qualifying software and station equipment.
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, virtual machines, and management tools to keep lab servers/ broadcast air chains up to date.
Develop, maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies for the Lab.
Support plug-fests, interop events and integration in the lab
Participate and support technology demonstrations at key events (NAB, CES, etc.)
Participate in standards and other industry alignment activities at A3SA, ATSC, IETF, W3C and 3GPP.
Support other ONE Media initiatives.
Required Skills
BS degree or equivalent experience
2 plus years of experience with broadcast TV systems
Working knowledge with test strategy and plan development
Experience with the ATSC 3 and 3GPP standards.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting in Linux/Unix and Android environment.
Experience with video streaming technology (e.g., MPEG Dash, HLS, MSS and RTSP)
Ability to troubleshoot, install, and maintain IP network.
Working experience with sniffer tools such as Wireshark, SolarWindows, PRTG or similar
