Job Title: Sr. Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will participate in the development and maintenance of General Accounting policy and procedure manuals, recommend policies and actions to provide better financial management and greater efficiency, and serve as a financial resource to explain accounting procedures necessary to fulfill accounting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of General Accounting policy and procedure manuals.

  • Recommend policies and actions to provide better financial management and greater efficiency.

  • Serve as a financial resource person to explain accounting procedures necessary to fulfill accounting requirements.

  • Assist in month-end close activities including journal entries, actual to budget analysis, follow-up on significant variances, and communication of risks and opportunities to management.

  • Perform varied accounting work, including maintenance of complex accounting records, preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, and planning, coordinating, and participating in auditing assignments.

  • Assist with timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts and make recommendations.

  • Assist with the timely and accurate preparation of budget information, audit and tax requests from external auditors, and other requests from outside entities or departments.

  • Assist in the review of reconciliations, identify accounting issues, and provide solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with general ledger, reconciliation, month-end close, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field.

  • 4+ years in full cycle accounting, including experience with month and year-end close.

  • Experience working with ledgers and journal entries.

  • Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures related to accounting.

  • Skill in using computers and personal productivity applications.

  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports to solve management and accounting issues.

  • Ability to prepare reports of historical data for use in preparing budget information.

  • Ability to assist with the audit of financial data or facilitate organizational effectiveness under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to develop work plans, coordinate projects, and oversee project activities.

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and use time efficiently.

  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy of work and improve quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday software is preferred but not required.

  • Healthcare experience is highly preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The initial training period of 6-8 weeks will be conducted on-site. After the training period, the role will transition to a hybrid model. The work environment is professional and collaborative, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $43.26
