3 Winter Maintenance and Repair Workers needed for temporary, seasonal, full-time employment.

Duties:

Detailed Job Duties/Functions:

Snow Removal:

Detailed duties: Remove snow using shovels, rakes, or snow blowers.

Work flexible hours based on weather conditions, including being on call 24/7.

Perform snow removal in various weather conditions, ensuring safety and accessibility.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

Maintain and repair all relevant equipment owned by Sharpe's Outdoor Services, under the instruction and supervision of the owner.

Types of equipment, including but not limited to push spreaders, truck salters, plows, tractors/mowers, shovels, rakes/roof rakes.

Cold Weather Agricultural and Horticultural Tasks:

Perform winter-specific agricultural or horticultural tasks such as pruning, trimming, and planting that cannot be done in warmer weather.

Building Repairs and Maintenance:

Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, drywall, and other parts of building structures.

Lay brick/block to construct, repair or maintain buildings, walls, arches, or other structures, ensuring structural integrity.

Position, attach, or blow insulating materials to prevent energy losses from buildings, pipes, or other structures.

Fabricate or repair wooden structures, including frames, floors, and other structural components.

Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials to construct or repair structures.

Work Setting:

The work will be performed at the job site/customer's location and Sharpe's business locations.

Flexible hours based on weather conditions, on call 24/7 based on weather conditions and willing to work in all weather conditions. Maintain and repair equipment as needed. Perform agricultural or horticultural cold weather/winter tasks: pruning, trimming, and planting that is unable to be done in the warmer weather.

Requirements: No education is required. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures, loud noises, lift heavy equipment and exhibit stamina. Must be able to operate equipment sober. Capable of extensive pushing, pulling, hauling, and stooping. The employer will provide on-the-job training in the proper use and maintenance of power tools and equipment. Employer will provide training on job for duties that will be required at each job site. The employer will provide workers, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Must have a valid driver's license. 35 hours per week, dependent on weather and need, normally Monday -- Thursday 8:00AM until 4:30 PM and Friday 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM, this schedule will change depending on weather and need. Each worker will have a 30-minute lunch break. Work on Saturdays may be required. Workers are needed to begin work on 10/15/2024 through 4/30/2025. Applicant must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described, and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Employer will ask the applicant for a verbal commitment to work the entire stated period. Do not apply if you do not think you can pass a post-hire random drug screening (at employer's expense). Work will be performed at multiple work sites throughout the Howell area including the counties of Oakland and Livingston. Travel between the worker's residence and the main office is not compensated, however, worker will be paid during travel between work sites. Employer will provide all daily transportation from the main office at 2960 Harvest Dr. Howell, Michigan 48843 to and from the work sites. Employer will also provide each work crew with daily transportation between the work site locations in Livingston and Oakland counties which are all within a 10-mile radi
