Job Duties: Performs one or more repetitive jobs on an assembly table and/or line to produce roof and floor trusses used in residential and light commercial buildings. Assemble precut pieces of lumber in a set pattern. Position and fasten specified metal connectors over connecting joints using hand tools and equipment including a hammer, staple gun, bander, tape measure, and glue gun. Press assembled trusses; splice, nail, stack, label, band and prepare finished trusses for delivery. Maintain work area and keep it clean. Other related duties as assigned. No minimum education or experience required. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. on a routine basis, and up to 70 lbs. when necessary. Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours per day. Job requires repetitive bending and lifting. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must be able to learn how to read truss assembly drawings. Must be able to work on Saturday and Sunday as necessary. Applicant must complete an employment application. No uniform required. The employer will offer 40 hours of work per week. Possible shifts include Monday-Thursday 5am-330pm, Monday-Friday 5am-330pm, Monday-Thursday 3pm-3am. Shift includes 30 minutes unpaid break. Work on Saturday and Sunday may be required as necessary. Work days, hours, and shift times may vary depending on weather and business need. Extended shifts may be required when necessary. Basic wage rate: $21.47 per hour. Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Overtime may be available. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $32.21 per hour. Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid bi-weekly. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. Optional employee shared housing, including basic utilities, is available at approximately $85 per person per week. Optional housing requires a $100 security deposit, refunded upon successful final inspection prior to departure. The cost of housing and deposit will be deducted from the worker s paycheck if the worker elects. Voluntary health insurance benefit is available at approximately $46.00 per week, depending on plan chosen. Voluntary dental insurance benefit is available at approximately $10.00 per week. The cost of health and dental insurance will be deducted from the worker s paycheck if the worker elects. Optional pay advancement available upon start of employment. Pay advancement is usually $200, paid back through two paycheck deductions of $100 each, if worker elects. The employer will provide optional daily transportation from housing to and from the worksite at a cost of $6 per day, deducted from the worker s paycheck if the worker elects. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. aily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. If necessary, employer will reimburse worker within first pay period for approved cost of meals and lodging at the applicable exchange rate, not to exceed reasonable costs. Receipts must be submitted. The employer will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). The employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
