SAM LLC Utility Coordination Manager PE in Houston, Texas

Your Impact at SAM

This position reports to the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Department Manager and works with Utility Coordinators, Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to provide leadership for the Utility Coordination Team and support for SUE and Utility Inspection.

  • Trains, manages and provides guidance to the Utility Coordination Team in all aspects of utility coordination

  • Maintains existing clients and performs business development

  • Develops scope and fee proposals for projects assigned

  • Responsible for the coordination oversight of the utility adjustment process for roadway and utility improvement projects

  • Responsible for client invoicing, interacting with clients for receipt of Accounts Receivable, and ensuring the Direct Labor (DL) goals for the Utility Coordination Team are met

  • Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals

What You Bring to SAM

  • 10+ years of experience as a utility coordinator on state DOT projects or comparable experience working for utility companies

  • 10 + years’ experience in preparing agreements for relocating utilities in accordance to local, state and federal utility accommodation processes and practices

  • Experience in proving Utility Coordination services for Design-Build projects

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills

  • 10 + years’ supervisory experience of projects and personnel preferred

  • BS/BA and/or equivalent experience

  • Professional Engineer license a plus

  • State DOT pre-certifications to function as a Utility Coordination task lead
