Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

· Dynamic Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform dynamic testing and troubleshooting of gas turbines during engine tests, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly.

· Data Acquisition & Analysis: Setup and use computerized data acquisition systems; interpret test data to determine if engines meet acceptance criteria.

· Engine Control Adjustments: Adjust engine controls, such as mapping for emissions, and test equipment as needed to achieve test objectives.

· Test Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain test cell auxiliary systems, including load banks, gas compressors, and emission monitoring systems.

· Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain test logs, forms, and documentation related to testing activities.

· Installation & Removal: Assist with the installation and removal of gas turbines and related test equipment.

· Support & Troubleshooting: Collaborate with staff to troubleshoot test cell systems, electrical controls, and instrumentation issues.

· Maintenance & Calibration: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of test facilities and equipment.

· Safety & Lean Initiatives: Actively promote and participate in all safety and lean initiatives within the facility.

· Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Test Technicians.

· Team Collaboration: Work independently while contributing effectively to the success of the test cell team.

Minimum Qualifications:

· At least 2 years of mechanical skills and electrical skills with experience operating shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools, and various inspection and test equipment (e.g., micrometers, multimeters, dial indicators).

· Skilled in basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

· Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.

· At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a gas turbine environment, focusing on electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.

· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

· Ability to understand and follow work instructions accurately.

· Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Basic computer skills.

· Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.

Desired Characteristics:

  • In-depth knowledge of aero-derivative gas turbine operation, module components, assembly, testing, and quality methods.

  • A&P license.

  • Experience with Woodward controls.

  • Familiarity with LM2500/LM6000/LMS100 gas turbines.

  • Experience with emission mapping.

  • Experience with load banks and gas compressors.

  • Borescope experience.

Materials & Equipment:

  • Hand and power tools, torque multipliers, dial indicators, micrometers, scales and other precision instrumentation, transducers

  • Hot and cold engine parts, instrument lines

  • Engine test skids, engine stands, engine cans, pallets

  • Overhead cranes and install crane-rigging systems, as well as, operate industrial forklifts, bobcat, ladders, man-lifts, self-powered lifting equipment, pallet jack, and any other material handling equipment

  • Digital multimeter, megger, pressure/temp calibrators and other instrument calibrators used for calibration and troubleshooting.

  • Conform to all safety and quality requirements and compliance with current policies.

  • Perform all duties as part of a team and serve as change agent to help improve on current processes

  • Maintain facilities, materials, and work areas orderly by exercising good housekeeping practice

  • The employee is expected to be at their assigned workstation ready to work at their assigned starting time.

The pay for this position is $36.84/Hour USD. This position is also eligible for a Night shift bonus of $1.00 Hour USD as well as a 4% Aero Alliance Bonus.
