GE Vernova Technical Project Manager in Houston, Texas

Job Description Summary

The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple engine repairs through the Aero Alliance JV Houston Service Center, providing overall project management services in addition to interfacing with the customer and channel partners to provide status updates and obtain the required approvals to facilitate the job through the repair process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide work instructions for the servicing of Aeroderivative Gas Turbine engines in compliance with business standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.

• Work with customer facing team and as point of contact (POC) for assigned project.

• Assist customers to understand work scope requirements and generate the work scope and routers for the shop.

• Serve as POC for engineering support needed to resolve any issues that arise in the shop during the engine repair cycle

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, depot, channel partners, support engineers, production team, and other functions as primary POC for the assigned project.

• Assure proper documentation of technical data and findings generated for the assigned projects, consistent with shop policies and procedures, including engine reports.

• Provide technical & coordination support needed to resolve any issues that arise in the shop during the engine repair cycle and drive smooth repairs and reduce repair turnaround time.

• Provide technical guidance to shop hourly personnel; participate in continuous improvement initiatives as needed

• Responsible for meeting all established safety, quality, delivery and cost goals

• Lead RCA’s and Engine test failure investigations as required. Work with customer facing team to get the necessary approvals for a work scope changes.

• Recommend and advise on options to meet or exceed technical requirements while striving to achieve operational schedules and commercial contract commitments on cost and on time delivery

• Correspond with Customer facing team and customers to provide regular status updates along with price and cost updates.

• Work with the customer facing team on proposal adjustments (Disassembly and Inspection)

• Work with shop to support solutions to keep the work on schedule and budget targets.

• Support channel and/or customer meetings and visits at the site.

• Own and drive the Fulfillment Complete Process for each project and coordinate the invoicing process.

• Utilize Lean Six Sigma to reduce cycle time and cost of quality and improve OTD.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science / engineering in a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of Gas Turbine experience or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of Gas Turbine experience).

• Proven domain expertise with Gas Turbines.

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

• Demonstrated ability to drive project initiatives of broad scope and impact and drive to closure.

• Proven effective problem identification, problem solving, troubleshooting skills, and process improvement.

Desired Characteristics:

• Project Management (PMP) Certification preferred.

• Proven leadership skills, good interpersonal and influencing skills.
