Building Concrete Solutions (BCS), is searching for a Structural Superintendent. BCS provides site concrete, foundations, tilt-wall and elevated concrete services. We handle concrete material, placement, and finishing for a range of flexible project delivery models. Job Summary: This position provides on-site project leadership for field construction activities and personnel, and ensures that all assigned projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety program requirements. Must have the ability and flexibility to work varying days, shifts, and long hours according to production needs at the discretion of the supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.

  • Understanding of plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.

  • Ability to review those documents on an electronic device.

  • Manages project start up.

  • Adhere to project budget.

  • Understands the percentage completion process.

  • Plans and supervises all activities including determining method of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, and work schedule.

  • Creates and maintains project schedule - plans, monitors, and reviews critical path dates and milestone schedules in conjunction with the project team.

  • Ensures that project safety protocols are implemented and followed, site specific safety plans, JSA’s, daily reports, and toolbox talks.

  • Monitors all personnel and subcontractor performance for compliance with our project safety program requirements.

  • Maintains open communication with other subcontractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and schedule.

  • Manages subcontractors and conducts effective subcontractor meetings.

  • Understands all subcontractors’ scopes; assures subcontractors maintain schedules, and quality standards meet contract requirements.

  • Manage rental equipment.

  • Expedite materials.

  • Performs project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner.

  • Works closely and effectively with management to plan and execute projects and ensure successful completion ensuring safety as the highest priority.

  • Attend all safety trainings and meetings as established by our company.

  • Proactively identifies and resolves field construction problems and assist in resolving them.

  • Must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing to others any confidential information, proprietary, or trade secret information belonging to the company.

  • Handles diversity and demonstrates team work internally and externally.

    Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in concrete construction projects preferred.

  • Completion of OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR

  • Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish speaking).

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

  • Knowledge of email usage (i.e., Microsoft Outlook)

  • Successful completion of our Safety orientation

    Physical Demands:

  • Must possess the ability to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to climb or balance.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, cleated walkways, and wire mesh.

  • Must tolerate working environment with outside temperatures that include excessive heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
