Actalent is hiring Structural Designers for a Department of Energy project in Houston TX. This is a 2-3 year contract, Per Diem is available as well as travel expenses to go back home.

Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) with demonstrated experience with computer aided drafting applications to originate and produce drawings with minimum supervision.

• 3D modeling experience required (S3D preferred).

• Read, interpret and generate design drawings with minimal input from a member of the engineering staff. Must have the ability to walk down field systems with minimal guidance, interpret field direction, generate minor design details, create new drawings, modify existing drawings, and direct junior drafters.

Education and Experience:

• Must have a minimum of an associate’s degree in a field related to the position and a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in drafting related to Engineering and Construction (nuclear preferred).

• Background and experience must include drafting/ designer experience in engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, fire protection or civil.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $195000.00

Travel: There is travel pay at an hourly rate is from when the plane doors close to when they open to 8/hours on their travel days. There is per diem for food and lodging through GSA (Government per diem). $68/day for food (true per diem you get it whether you use it or not.) $110/day for lodging (Example, they need to stay in a hotel to get this per diem NOT an air b&b etc. If the hotel costs $120/day they pay the $10 difference.) This is all on top of their base hourly rate.Plane tickets, car rental, hotel, uber/taxi will be reimbursed the following month typically within the first week.
