Robert Half is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for a direct-hire, full-time opportunity at a reputable company in Houston. The Staff Accountant will be a crucial part of our finance department, playing a key role in ensuring financial data accuracy and compliance. This position is ideal for a dynamic and ambitious professional who thrives in a detail-oriented and results-driven work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage a cleanup project which involves reconciling past financial statements.

• Seamlessly navigate between old software (AS400) and new software (QuickBooks), ensuring the transition is as smooth as possible. Prior knowledge of QuickBooks is more vital than AS400.

• Develop and manage complex spreadsheets, maintaining accurate and timely financial data.

• Analyze and interpret summary reports, conveying findings and any significant financial insights to our key stakeholders, David and Linda.

• Conduct thorough research and checks into our operational software, Gorilla Desk (prior experience not necessary) to ensure financial numbers are accurate and balanced.

• Collaborate directly with other team members and take initiative as directed and needed.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a staff accountant or similar finance role.

• Skilled at creating and managing spreadsheets, must be proficient at Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of QuickBooks software is required.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible personality able to work efficiently with team members.
