ManpowerGroup Sr. Process Engineer (Project) in Houston, Texas

Our client, int eh Chemical Industry is seeking a Senior Process Project Engineer to join their team.

Job Title: Sr. Process/Project Engineer

Location: Crosby TX

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, advanced degrees a plus

  • Minimum15+ years’ experience as a Sr. process and/or project engineer in the plant (hands-on experience required) in the chemical industry.

  • Experience with a wide array of process unit operations is desired including batch reactions, bulk storage, tank truck and railcar loading/unloading, solids handling, distillation, filtration, process automation, waste water, thermal oxidation, utilities, and others. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated capabilities in the process design, automation, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, capacity expansion, P&ID development, PHA participation, Safe work habits, and coordination with other disciplines on a project (CADD, instrumentation, structural, mechanical, automation, construction management). Familiarity with batch and semi-continuous processes a plus.

  • Experience with Flares, Oxidizers and Wastewater Treatment Plants are a plus.

  • Must be able to apply basic chemical engineering fundamentals and calculations to solve problems and design new processes. Mass and energy balances, heat transfer, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, MOC selection, mass transfer, phase change, etc.

  • Must have experience working with and leading a multi-discipline project team and working with outside engineering firms and consultants. It is highly desirable to have good project engineering skills to manage assigned capital projects. This would include scope, schedule and budget development and control throughout a project life cycle.

  • Extensive PSM experience required

  • Self-directing

  • Strong leadership

  • Capability with Aspen or ChemCad software system.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to timely communicate to Management and to Subordinates

  • Strong Leadership skills a plus

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Lead the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities on new projects at the Crosby Texas, plant.

  • Responsibilities include technical definition and evaluation of process alternatives that support business growth and improve existing chemical tolling operations.

  • Activities include process development and definition, conceptual and detailed process design, project engineering, contractor supervision, quality assurance, safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Responsible for process engineering support throughout the plant including Process Hazard Analysis or Hazop review leadership.

  • Will lead the effort to develop Corporate and/or plant engineering standards and develop specification sheets for equipment and instrumentation.

  • Support the Project Manager as lead process and/or project engineer on larger sized projects.

  • Will lead the process design work and support process related projects as a lead project engineer on small to medium sized projects.
