Principal Accountabilities

Operational Management

  • Produce templatized designs and approaches (Infrastructure as a code) for Cloud based deployments in fulfilling technical and business objectives and service processes.

  • Monitor Cloud resources on performance, costs and security to troubleshoot problem areas as needed.

  • Ensure adequate mechanisms are in place to allow for accurate monitoring and statistical information to be produced.

  • Practice Cloud based best practices, including high availability standards, align with the latest stable feature set to drive operational efficiencies.

  • Ensure that regular maintenance of related documentation and technical specifications are kept up to date.

  • Perform appropriate solution audits, patching, system backups and recovery as required or in conjunction with needs of the business.

  • Provide timely design, implementation and support services for global infrastructure projects/systems to meet business objectives.

  • Follow, review and recommend improvements to existing Operational processes.

  • Provide user base and departmental training wherever applicable. Facilitate skills transfer sessions to others within the IT Tech Ops Team.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Design and iterate structural management groups where policies and permissions are managed.

  • Deploy or migrate accounts/subscriptions and resources based upon agreed designs.

  • Integrate and assist in maintaining on-premises/cloud virtualized network infrastructure based upon agreed SDDC designs.

  • Conduct research on Cloud best practices and standards to remain abreast of developments in the Cloud world. Propose new technologies and/or enhance existing ones to increase business benefit or mitigate risk.

  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as a code and use of associated tooling.

Processes & Planning

  • Manage, Monitor, Document, Develop, Support and Report on Cloud resources based upon agreed metrics.

  • Continuously update and improve upon Cloud deployment templates and practices and adhere to change control approaches when applying them to existing resources.

  • Maintain a high standard of security ensuring that Cloud based resources are secure from internal and external threats including risk identification and escalation.

  • Ensure that business continuity and security form an integral part of all deployments.

  • Provide input to existing approaches in order to automate wherever possible.

Professional Experience

  • minimum of 4+ years working with public and private Cloud environments (Azure/AWS preferred)

  • working knowledge of various PaaS/SaaS services that runs in Azure, primarily WVD, Key-vaults, SQL and other infrastructural components.

  • prior working experience in IT infrastructural work and concepts, including working knowledge of virtualized network, routing and segmentation.

  • have the drive to continuously improve knowledge and skillset in line with the latest feature set and better working procedures in this fast-changing area.

  • an ability to communicate and present at all levels, including senior management.

  • be trusted to work with high security privileges and the responsibilities that entail.

  • have a proven track record in delivering process improvement projects on operational systems, including ensuring that proper documentation and other delivery requirements are met so that the improvements can be globally supported by the global Ops teams.

Salary Range:

$108,600.00 - $217,400.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
