Amazon Senior Events Program Manager, AWS GSS Security Culture & Readiness in Houston, Texas

The Global Services, Security (GSS) team, a part of Amazon Web Services, leverages the expertise and ingenuity of our builders to establish scalable security solutions for both internal and external customers that drive business outcomes. As a Sr. Program Manager, you will drive the program management for high-impact events for the AWS Global Services Security (GSS) and AWS GSS Security Culture & Readiness team. In this role you will develop, market, and execute events targeting IT decision-makers, as well as builders interested in or already building with AWS. You will work closely with stakeholders across AWS, specifically in Global Services, GSS and Marketing to set direction and coordinated the local execution of these activities.

You are a detail-oriented planner with the demonstrated ability to communicate and respond effectively and efficiently while maintaining flexibility and composure under pressure. You are highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, and team oriented, with an ability to deliver results through influence. You have a proven track record at taking end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results. You have the ability to learn and be curious about cloud security to better understand the business and tailor events to meet the needs out of our customers.

You will support GSS and their strategy, planning and execution for re:Invent (60k attendees), re:Inforce (5k attendees) and drive security culture & readiness events internally and with our non-profit partners.

Key job responsibilities

-Develop and execute the end-to-end plans for key components of field-led event programs and large scale events.

-This will include developing a program strategy by working with your GSS business stakeholders and teams.

-Lead program management of the planning and execution of the program strategy in partnership with your team and stakeholder team (including but not limited to planning calls, content management, formal meeting management, creative/brand, digital marketing, swag, customer/partner passes, employee/staff management, executive management, budget, timeline management, stakeholder management, internal communications, employee enablement, etc.)

-Participate and represent GSS in greater AWS event program calls, all-up GS event calls, provide weekly and monthly business review updates, etc.

-Define the goals of each program component, manage the budget and timeline, and oversee a variety of vendors and venue partners to ensure all stakeholders are working together to deliver a high-quality experience.

-Partner with Product Marketing on content, marketing and messaging strategy and session and booth integrations into events.

-Collaborate with AWS service teams, Product Marketing, and finance on service launches and tracking the outcome from the launch events.

-Develop marketing plans including demand generation initiatives and post-event marketing initiatives in partnership with digital marketing, global campaigns, product marketing and brand.

-Work with Sales, Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, and Executive Assistants to manage customer and partner meeting strategy, including but not limited to managing EBC topics, speaker selection, meeting management, and post-event leads management.

-Provide detailed and clear post-event debrief reports on events and activities associated with executed programs, including event results, KPIs, ROI evaluation, trends, insights and recommendations for future events.

-Collaborate closely with our community and non-profit partners to help amplify their mission.

-Think Big about new ways we can create unique, interactive experiences for our customers to further security outcomes.

-Utilize exceptional communication skills to collaborate across AWS, GSS and marketing on event intake briefs, plans, and post-event debriefs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
