The Energy Systems division of the Caterpillar Energy & Transportation Segment (E&T) develops multi–Mega-Watt (MW) power solutions for the energy industry including micro-grid style projects aligned to the Caterpillar product lines in natural gas, diesel and other fuels and technologies as required.
The Caterpillar Energy & Transportation Segment (E&T) has a broad portfolio of products and services which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers.
What you will do:
Develop complex energy solutions for utility and data center customers and maintain a multi-year sales funnel of projects.
Develop and execute account-based strategies for specified regions to drive equipment and aftermarket sales opportunities to the market.
Development of strategic project relationships at Client, Dealer and Strategic Partner levels.
Develop a clear understanding of CAT product line and associated strategy development in packaged solutions to the data center and utility markets.
The role requires the establishment of high-level relationships with business decision makers, senior leaders, and opportunity champions.
Work across various internal Caterpillar divisions to leverage customer relationships and align with overall caterpillar Data Center strategies.

Customer Focus: Extensive market exposure to energy customers and demonstrated capability building long-term solutions. Knowledge of the energy industry, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Facilitates creation of the 'right' products and services to resolve customer business issues.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Level Working Knowledge:
Proven expertise and track record in development of multi-year power solutions and implementation of power generation projects.
• Demonstrates current knowledge of the regulatory environment for industry segment.
• Proven financial acumen and commercial experience.
• Experience in utility sales and/or Energy background.
• Currently works with a major industry segment and associated functions and features.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process.

• Advises others in analyzing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives.

Additional Information:
• This position will be based in Irving, TX or Houston, TX.
• This position will require up to 60% domestic travel.
• Domestic relocation is offered for this position

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
