What we want
Research Assistant conducts experiments focused on innate immunity, particularly the functions of Toll-like receptors and their recognized ligands and utilizes a wide range of experimental procedures at both in vivo and in vitro levels.

Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biology
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in biology
Significant prior experience with laboratory research, specifically with molecular biology and biochemistry, cloning of genes, protein expression in bacterial cells, and protein purification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English
Responsibilities
Research Experiment: Perform a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experiments and procedures including standard molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, protein expression, and purification. Execute, complete, and summarize research results for experimental protocols.
Research: Designing simple research experiments, and operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment including incubators/shakers, autoclaves, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, etc.
Laboratory: Assistance in basic operation of the lab, including preparation of media and solutions, organization of lab supplies, and maintenance of equipment.
Collaboration: Conduct literature searches and reviews and attend courses and lectures. Participate in weekly lab meetings within the center and other departments. Participate in joint projects involving faculty, lab personnel, and graduate students.
Other: Performs other duties as assigned.
