WM Project Engineering Manager-Renewable Energy in Houston, Texas

Houston Based (4 days in Office/1 Day at home)
I. Job Summary
This is an experienced engineer position that provides a high level of subject matter expertise and may work on a combination of engineering specialties covering more than one project. This position may work as an individual contributor or lead functional teams for assigned projects. Assists in building appropriately sized and structured engineering support team. Performs analyses to develop recommendations for operations projects and develops project related engineering standards and procedures. Generally supports WM Renewable Energy (WMRE), but may on occasion support other company projects.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Serves as lead Owners Engineer for all WMRE facilities responsible for providing design reviews of all projects in development or construction.
Organizes engineering program and projects according to department and special project requirements.
Manage assigned project engineering staff including recommendations on hiring, evaluating performance, assigning work, assisting in setting department accountabilities and objectives.
When assigned as project lead, assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical plans and project testing.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Develops and tests components, equipment, and systems applying principles and techniques of electrical, mechanical, chemical and/or industrial engineering.
Functions as a working team member within the assigned group and/or project team.
Provides technical direction to project team members.
Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
Ensures that department project goals are met within the stated guidelines and requirements

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, in Engineering or similar area of study, Required.
Minimum 5 years previous experience required
Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree/Masters Preferred
Preferred Experience includes:
Experience working with technologies relating to landfill derived renewable natural gas processing equipment (Compression equipment, membrane technology, PSA/TSA technology) to support CO2 removal, nitrogen rejection, oxygen scavenging and methane optimization
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
PE Certification Preferred
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
25% travel
