Kelly Services Project Controls Lead in Houston, Texas

The Project Control Leader is the first among equals for the Project Controls (PjC) Team supporting Large Capital projects for Central Engineering within Client and is accountable for the entire PjC effort for a project.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Project Control assignments, concerns, and performance while collaborating with the Director of Project Control Leads.

  • Attends all project development and strategy meetings to ensure you are aware and actively contribute to developing the project execution plans.

  • Expectations for the PCL are to be aware of, and be prepared to articulate, project changes that could either negatively or positively affect the success of a project related to estimate, schedule, cost forecasts, resourcing, execution plans, etc.

  • Establishes controls and operating guidelines that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that impact the project's success.

  • Coordinate and facilitate schedule and cost review meetings throughout the FEL, detailed design, and construction phases.

  • Work within the project leadership team to manage and properly communicate change in a clear, data-driven, and concise method.

  • Represent project controls in the project execution risk review process to ensure the impact and evaluation of risks are properly reflected.

  • The Project Controls Leader must exhibit Client’s Code of Business Conduct and represent Client and the Project Controls Department professionally and effectively to Client’s business partners and third parties. Exhibit professional behaviors that others will value and hold in high regard. Lead with resolution and confidence but serve the project and the team members with humility. Interact with all team members objectively.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in petrochemical/chemical oil & gas or mining industries or related industries.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Controls Management.

  • Must have the ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.

  • Must be willing and able to meet all applicable requirements related to business travel (e.g., as to immigration and visa rules, public-health mandates, airline rules, etc.) into and out of (and physical presence in) various countries world wide.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
