The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services to support the company's quality, delivery, and cost requirements. This role involves planning, scheduling, and monitoring the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle to ensure timely shipment of products. The Procurement Specialist will also resolve issues related to requisition accuracy, on-time delivery, and supplier payment while maximizing inventory turns and minimizing costs.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline.

• Minimum 2 years experience in supply chain concepts and methodologies, and manufacturing through internships or training programs.

responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement of parts, equipment, and materials by preparing requests for quotations and submitting purchase orders with approved suppliers.

• Issue purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect negotiated prices, schedules, terms, and conditions.

• Plan, schedule, and manage production capacity load to ensure maximum on-time delivery.

• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of open purchase orders, quotes, work orders, and part master data.

• Monitor and evaluate production execution to plan and supplier performance.

• Advise appropriate personnel of production issues or impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery.

• Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues and arranging conferences between suppliers and company personnel.

• Negotiate and settle damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers.

• Provide information on parts, equipment, and materials by answering questions and requests.

• Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

• Maintain schedules, records, and reports pertaining to the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources.

• Execute requisite system transactions to support the receipt, storage, and transferring of material.

• Maintain inventory levels, generate tracking reports, and perform data entry as required.

• Participate in continuous improvement activities and provide suggestions for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

• Develop alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.

• Participate in supplier site visits and evaluate them based on production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations and company policies and procedures.
