System One Procurement Specialist in Houston, Texas

Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas 77086

Duration: Direct Hire

Compensation: $60-70K

Benefits: Health, 401K, 10 holidays, two weeks PTO + one week sick leave + one week family leave

Schedule: Hybrid - 8-5, M-Th in office, Friday WFH

Job Purpose:

Responsible for managing procurement activities at the Houston facility, including sourcing goods and services, negotiating supplier contracts, and ensuring timely delivery within budget while meeting company specifications.

QHSSE:

Follow all QHSSE policies, complete required training, and identify opportunities for improvement. Report and investigate incidents, non-conformities, and risks. Participate in safety meetings and ensure work conditions are safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase goods and services that align with company needs, quantity, and quality standards.

  • Serve as the main contact for suppliers, addressing questions or concerns.

  • Evaluate pricing and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

  • Gather vendor quotes and purchase terms based on requisitions.

  • Create and manage purchase orders using MS Dynamics ERP system.

  • Ensure timely receipt of goods and services as per orders.

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure agreed terms are met.

  • Collaborate with department managers, Shipping/Receiving, and Accounts Payable.

    Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, functions, pivot tables).

  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably MS Dynamics.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and its terminology.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Management preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of procurement experience.
