MD Anderson Cancer Center Procurement Coordinator - Stem Cell Transplantation Lab in Houston, Texas

KEY FUNCTIONS
Responsible for procurement of all supplies, reagents and equipment from external vendors used by the Cell Therapy Laboratory (CTL) including following established institutional and CTL policies and procedures.
Work with CTL team, administrative, laboratory, collection and materials management to establish and maintain monitoring system for tracking inventory utilizing institutional PAR level program for best pricing.
Work with vendors to negotiate pricing and solicit bids, ensuring conformance with institutional policy.
Initiate and maintain standing orders/POs monitoring account balances to ensure sufficient funds are available.
Track placement and delivery of orders resolving any invoice exceptions including follow-up with supply chain management and/or accounts payable to ensure adjustments and/or corrections are made accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualify and release items for use, per FDA regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and CTL policies and standard operating procedures (SOP). Work with vendors when items received to do not comply with required specifications, including certificates of analysis and manufacturer's instructions.
Restock and rotate supplies and reagents in inventory area, ensuring minimal levels to maintain activities of the CTL.
Manage and restock linen items for cleanroom facility, standard of care areas, research and administrative areas.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, concurrently, to permit full traceability of supplies, reagents and equipment from order to release for use.
Support contract negotiations and subsequent follow-up for equipment and reagents, acquiring knowledge of best practices and vendor availability to ensure best purchase price.
Provide purchasing guidance/recommendations to laboratory personnel based on anticipated workloads and PAR levels.
Coordinate purchase of capital equipment for the laboratory and administrative offices.
Responsible for receipt, assembly and arranging distribution of supply orders designated for all CTL Collection sites.
Review supply orders and fill items upon request. Work with Quality Assurance team to manage required documents and labels for each area.
Pack supplies and arrange delivery with approved couriers.
Maintain accurate documentation of orders and distributed inventory concurrently with the activities.
Maintain and restock cleanroom, core lab, research and administrative items, including linen, as required for the respective areas.
Maintain supporting documentation/authorization files and database to track inventory and assets. Maintain and updates equipment manuals and records.
Maintain up-to-date list and documentation of qualified vendors.
Prepare monthly inventory reports reporting any supply/equipment issues. Initiate and complete work request forms for changes/repairs, obtaining cost estimates for approval.
Assist and make recommendations to department administration in preparation of laboratory budgets.
Assist in the development and management of key departmental policies (e.g., purchasing, shipping, lab safety).
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE
Required:
Six years in a general business environment experience.
With preferred degree, two years of experience in a general business environment is required.
