UTHealth Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Psychiatry - Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - 2500007W in Houston, Texas

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth Houston) is seeking a psychology post-doctoral fellow interested in clinical and research training in child and adolescent psychology. Applicants preferably have a PhD in psychology. Clinical and research training will focus on youth receiving school-based tele-mental health services and children/families in the community who are participating in community-based social-emotional skills groups and evidence-based parenting programs. Postdoctoral fellows will deliver services via telemedicine, and in-person at community sites in Harris and Fort Bend Counties.

General educational activities include weekly didactic activities including journal clubs, writing clubs, meetings with senior researchers, workshops on grant writing and individualized career development plans.

Position Summary:

A biomedical postdoc position provides an opportunity for early-career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field of expertise.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Plans and conducts experiments, analyzes data, and prepares publications describing results.
  2. Assists in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.
  3. Reads and evaluates literature.
  4. Possess interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels.
  5. Have strong written and oral communication skills.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

Doctoral/Terminal Degree, preferably in psychology.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
