About the Role: North America NGL Research Senior Analyst

The Team:

The Midstream NGL team is responsible for producing regional and global NGL supply, demand, and price outlooks. The team operates in a dynamic environment where cross collaboration is crucial and focused on product deliverables and meeting client needs. This role will focus on North America NGL markets and will involve developing analytical tools, research, models and insights.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The Midstream NGL team is a global team responsible for producing market outlook data (supply, demand and price) and content for global NGL markets. As a team member the individual will be required to contribute towards the goals and objectives of the Midstream NGL team and overall towards S&P Global’s Commodity Insights business. The role will contribute towards delivery of all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual NGL reports and datasets to clients. Our analysis serves a wide range of customers across the energy industry.

  • As a part of North America team, the role will require to conduct NGL commodity market research and analytics for all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.

  • Research includes staying abreast of upstream, crude oil, natural gas, refined product and petrochemical market trends, trade flows, pricing, general market dynamics, and individual company analysis.

  • Responsible for NGL supply and demand modelling, which would include building models for existing products and new services.

  • Assist in developing market presentations for internal and external clients.

  • Collaborate with cross-commodity teams to gain knowledge and generate ideas to offer greater value to customers.

  • Deliver high-quality reports that help core readership make better-informed business decisions.

  • Engage with clients and support the team with client questions and ad-hoc requests of various complexity by providing timely, well thought out, and collaborative market views and insights.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • Previous experience in NGL or energy related field is a plus but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Knowledgeable in R, PowerBI, Python is a plus but not required.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills; ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail, including relevant language skills as appropriate.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be flexible with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all colleagues and can work independently.
