MD Anderson Cancer Center Manager, Patient Transportation / 6am - 3pm in Houston, Texas

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Manager of Patient Transportation includes but is not limited to Provides direction, administration, and management for the department. Manages the human resources functions of operational staff, specifically, supervising staff running operations and the employees in operational positions; also provides coverage for supervising staff for multiple shifts. Active leadership in the recruitment and retention of staff, including addressing performance issues, administering disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, identifying rewards and recognition and motivations for staff. Provides administrative leadership and support to assigned shifts, working closely with the medical and support staff/departments and vendors. Assesses, recommends, leads, and coordinates improvements to address operational inefficiencies, environmental barriers affecting staff productivity and patient/customer satisfaction and/or safety. Ensures stewardship of fiscal and people resources. Provides input and leads actions to address productivity and quality goals. Provides direction for departmental policies, standards, and data analysis.
Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 6A - 3P including rotating weekends and holidays.

Finance/Growth Seeks the approval of manager, associate director or director for overtime, daily monitors kronos and prepares reports which detail volume, staff productivity, customer satisfaction and other special reports as needed or requested; Ensures operating expenses and/or net margin of department are within 5% of approved yearly budget and is a good steward of department resources,
Seek experiences and knowledge in technical and administrative functions to gain additional expertise; Seek to improve standards and accept assignments that will expand capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: Associate's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field .
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field.
Certification Required: None
Preferred Certifications: HeartSaver with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
Experience Required: Five years in healthcare, project management, or hospitality, to include three years of supervisory/management experience . May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
Preferred Experience: With preferred degree, three years in healthcare, project management, or hospitality, to include three years of supervisory/management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.
