Nexstar Media Group Manager, Local Sales in Houston, Texas

KIAH CW39 is looking for a dynamic Local Sales Manager with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets while building strong relationships with local businesses and clients. You are an expert in omni-channel advertising, exceptional in team leadership and in-field coaching, and experienced in strategic sales planning to ensure the growth of local businesses in Houston, TX.

What you’ll accomplish as a Local Sales Manager (Essential Duties):

  • Maximize revenue across all KIAH CW39 and Nexstar Media Group platforms through strategic sales leadership.

  • Lead and manage a team of Account Executives to exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

  • Create and implement data-driven sales strategies to consistently exceed revenue goals.

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop media Account Executives with a digital first consultative approach.

  • Cultivate trusted client relationships alongside Account Executives.

  • Make decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees.

  • Accurate revenue forecasting across all platforms.

  • Continuously educate and train the sales team on emerging multimedia trends, ensuring optimal sales performance.

  • Management and execution of administrative duties, collection and billing, account list management and other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need as a Local Sales Manager (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 3-5 years of omni-channel media sales, sales leadership experience or equivalent industry experience; leadership experience (with a focus on local) a plus.

  • Results driven with proven ability to manage teams to meet and exceed sales goals.

  • Expertise in local digital and media advertising, including linear TV, OTT, programmatic, social media, and search engine marketing.

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter who works effectively both independently and in a team environment with interest and passion for people leadership and coaching in local, linear/video, and digital marketing.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience using Zoom, Teams, and other remote sales tools.

  • Is well versed in Microsoft office products; PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Power BI as well as CRM and other sales tools and working knowledge of sales tools including Wide Orbit, Google Ad Manager, 3rd party research skills such as Nielsen, ComScore, Google Analytics. IAB and/or Google AdWords certifications are a plus.
